The Junior Project Engineer (JPE) is responsible for the performance of the engineering team as per the assigned responsibilities given to him within the project. The JPE has two major key functions:
- Coordination of the engineering activities.
- Expediting for respective deliverables.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing multiple internal and external interfaces within project defined parameters,
- Preparing reports for the Engineering Manager,
- Preparing and participating in the internal/external meetings,
- Ensuring Implementation of capitalization from the lessons learnt in previously executed project,
- Supporting the preparation of the Project Execution procedures; Job Manuals (according to Job Manual Workflow; Internal discipline standards and client standards); Project Code and Standard (Contractual Industries Codes, Local regulation and Laws),
- Finalizing the Basis of Design and Site Data Sheet and expediting the missing data; early activity schedule and preparation of L3 schedule; challenge of the Start Estimate (Man-hours and bill of quantities).
Technical skills:
- Good understanding of basic physical material properties and piping engineering,
- Basics of Chemistry processes (you will know what water treatment, adsorption and chemical dosing is, water and heat balance),
- Basics of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering (you will know what is PLC, Pressure Transmitters, Limit Switches, I/O Lists, Electrical consumer list),
- Familiar with Pressure and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and other engineering deliverables such as General Arrangement Drawings, Steel structure drawings,
- Basic knowledge of welding requirements will be considered as beneficial skill, however not a must,
- Familiar with code requirements such as ASME and/or PED,
- Skills in controlling in Man Hour budget and project cost,
- High Culture in controlling Management of Change process,
- In Situ problem solving,
- Profession in coordination of various disciplines,
- Multitasking abilities.
Competencies and Profile:
- Analyzes information and makes a synthesis to develop solutions; balances sense of urgency, risk analysis and contribution in decision making process,
- Is open to benchmark input and new ideas; takes appropriate risks; takes ownership for own actions and take decision on Engineering topics,
- Ability to develop and execute competitive solutions as well as drive it till the end,
- Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, processes and tools within the respective discipline,
- Basic knowledge of construction constraint and sequence.
