Department Overview
Training Content Development is a part of Motorola Solutions Worldwide Education organization. The role of the department is design, development and maintenance of training materials for Motorola Solutions employees, partners and customers.
Job Description
This role will entail producing training courses as outlined by the Instructional Designers while ensuring proper quality and on-schedule completion of the development work assigned. A Training Content Developer will use e-learning authoring tools and media development software to create engaging courses, both online and instructor-led.
The candidate in this role will work directly with internationally dispersed individuals and teams of Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, Master Instructors and Project Managers. Therefore, the ability to clarify unknowns, take initiative, and identify potential risks is a must-have.
A minimum of Bachelors in one of the following: Computer Science, Graphics Design, Media Design or English Language
Solid understanding of training delivery methods including analysis, design and development of instructor led training, online training, virtual instructor led training, and lab guides.
Participation in quality reviews of assignments to ensure they are of acceptable quality and compliant with the appropriate development process.
Ability to complete projects with moderate supervision
Strong team player skills with the ability to work in a fast‐paced, rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated proficiency in creating engaging e‐learning courses from technical content
Essential skills:
Graphic and multimedia design sensibilities
Microsoft PowerPoint expert
Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Captivate user
Knowledge of learning methodologies and training delivery methods
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Knowledge of industry standards, tools and design techniques
Technical/Script Writing skills
Additional Skills:
Background in Instructional Design, with a minimum of 2 years experience (a plus but not essential)
Background in Course Development, with a minimum of 2 years experience (a plus but not essential)
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Adobe eLearning Suite with a portfolio
