Department Overview

Motorola Solutions Finance Operations Center (F.O.C.) provides world-class finance, accounting and purchasing services to Motorola branches in Europe, Middle East, Africa, US and Latin America region. It is a dynamic environment where your ideas and input will be valued and where you will do some of the best work of your life.

General Ledger department is in charge of General Accounting, Global Fixed Assets & Intercompany Operations, Tax and Transfer Pricing, Statutory & other Compliance activities for Motorola’s entities in the region.

• Support for various tax matters for EMEA entities
• Support with preparation of Statutory Financial Statements, especially Tax Notes (current tax and deferred tax)
• Scope: tax accounting, VAT, CIT and international tax aspects
• Supporting tax audits; looking after tax policies
• Looking after tax compliance of EMEA entities
• Working closely with other departments in Cracow, US and Europe 
• Supporting business operations in assessing tax impact of their business decisions
• Supporting Tax Manager on more complex VAT or CIT projects together with other business areas; 
• Working on smaller ad hoc tax-related projects together with GL Team Leaders and Statutory Accountants
• Advisory role with regards to business as usual outputs (tax filings, reports) produced by Statutory & Tax accountants
• Driving process improvements in the tax area
• Delivering internal tax trainings to finance and business teams
• Other tasks as determined by the GL & Compliance Manager

• Relevant Tax, Economic or Accounting University Degree
• Tax Advisor/Chartered Accountant certificate a distinct advantage
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, tax compliance or tax advisory or as an in-house advisor
• Very strong technical tax/accounting knowledge
• Very good awareness of accounting principles
• Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills required
• German language beneficial
• Ability to work independently and proactively, highly organised with the right level of focus on details
• Strong MS Excel; Google Suite, experience in using reporting tools (such as Tableau) and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) GL module a plus
• Self-motivated, confident self-starter with a proactive approach
• Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance staff at all levels
• Ability to work in an intense, fast paced and multinational work environment
