The Security Update Service team, part of the Motorola Solutions Cybersecurity Services organization, protects mission-critical systems around the globe and provides expertise and support in using and troubleshooting ASTRO cybersecurity products. Our customers are public safety agencies, governments and military organizations who use our ASTRO mission critical communications systems. The team is responsible for testing, delivery, and deployment of security patches for Motorola Solutions ASTRO systems, as well as for maintaining the vetting lab where the security updates are applied and tested before releasing to our customers.

The Remote Security Update Service remotely applies monthly and quarterly Operating System Security patch updates to P25 Astro systems around the world. The US-based team is expanding and looking to fill this position in the MSI Krakow facility. Initially as part of the team you will apply Windows OS updates to customer devices on a Monthly basis. Eventually you will also apply ESXi (VMware), Red Hat Linux, Dot Hill DAS, and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) security patches on a quarterly basis. The team provides reports to customers and Motorola field teams of system patching status upon completion of applying patch updates. Team members coordinate patching schedules with Motorola field teams, explaining the patch update process and communicating expected system impacts during patching.

Duties of this entry level position may also include:

• Performing preventative maintenance system checks to ensure proper system operation
• Developing, maintaining, and updating internal process documentation
• Working on process improvement initiatives throughout the year
• Some 2nd shift work will be required to align with team members and customers in the US timezones

* knowledge of IT systems such as IP Networking, VMware (Vsphere), and remote access protocols (SSH, RDP, SCP), ESXi (VMware), Red Hat Linux
* knowledge of MSI LMR systems is desired
* Must have self-management skills and people skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams
* Able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations
* Excellent communication and customer service skills to promote and demonstrate an attitude of teamwork, cooperation, and customer service
* Must be able to work well in a group setting, collaborating with other team members to resolve technical issues
* Promptly respond to customer needs in a professional and enthusiastic manner
* Systems maintenance, troubleshooting and repair  

Minimum of a Bachelors degree (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
